The Tuscan Wine Trail - The
Most Breathtaking Cycling
Routes You Can Imagine
For five days in July, you will be transported back to ancient Roman times, to the magnificence of the Renaissance, and to one of the cradles of great wine making. Think of endless rows of Cypress trees and the vineyards of Panzano, Greve, Castellani, Gaiole and Radda. And where Da Vinci was believed to have captured, for eternity, his Mona Lisa's smile.
Each day will consist of 80km - 100km of cycling. However on day 3 we will have a shorter route and will visit a Chianti vineyard where we will have lunch and some wine tasting in the afternoon. Day 4 will bring us into the stunning city of Florence, where you can spend some time exploring the home of the renaissance and Day 5 we cycle into Siena for lunch. You can even test your legs on the famous Strade Bianche climb in the centre and finish in the famos Piazza del Campo.
There is a saying that 'there are no flat roads in Tuscany', so be prepared for the rolling hills. Our support vehicles and road captains will be on hand to support you on the road. And if you'd rather take a break, you're free to sit in the jacuzzi or have a dip in the swimming pool at the hotel and give tired muscles a break. Remember, this is a cycling 'holiday'.

Day One
Greve in Chianti Loop
Distance 80km Elevation 1,663m
Our first day of cycling will bring us north of Radda where we will visit the towns of Greve in Chianti, Mercatale in Val di Pisa and the charming medieval village of Castellina in Chianti.
It's a short enough day with only 80km's of cycling but has 1663m of elevation. A nice introduction to the rolling hills of Tuscany and of course stunning scenery will be on offer all day.
Day Two
San Gimignano Loop
Distance 91km Elevation 1,222m
We head west on day two to the town of San Gimignano. Famous for its medieval architecture and iconic towers, it's a must see for anyone touring the Tuscan area. You will be given an hour to explore the city by foot before getting back on the bike and cycling back to the hotel.

Day Three
Wine Tour Loop
Distance 60km Elevation 700m
We will have a short spin in the morning around the famous Chianti vineyards before parking the bikes for the afternoon. We will be having lunch in one of the local vineyards, where you will be given a short tour followed by some wine tasting (a favourite with all our clients). After your tour has finished, we will drive you back to the hotel where you can relax in the jacuzzi or maybe take a dip in the pool.
We have an exceptional restaurant booked for this evening that is famous for it's views where you can watch a beautiful Tuscan sunset from your table.
Day Four
Florence Loop
Distance 106km Elevation 1609m
A long day in the saddle but so worth it. We have a beautiful route that will bring you into the home of the Renaissance - Florence. You will be free to explore the city for an hour or so and marvel at its beauty. Steeped in history, this city has a lot to offer and the Duomo which has stood for over 600 years is a must see.

Day Five
Siena Loop
Distance 75km Elevation 1,115m
Our final day will bring us into the heart of Siena. It's another beautiful route that leads us into the center of the Piazza del Campo. Any avid cyclist will recognise this as the finish line for the Strade Bianche cycle race. You can even cycle the last km of the race and see how you compare with the pro's on the steep side streets surrounding the square.
We will return to Siena in the evening for our final dinner overlooking the square. A perfect way to finish off our Tour of Tuscany.
